YOU DO NOT NEED TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU ARE MOVING
There are four different stages someone may be in when they begin considering Mexico:
Curious: “I enjoy the idea, but I haven’t investigated it.”
You may follow accounts about Mexico, watch relocation videos or imagine what it might be like—but you haven’t yet applied the idea to your own life.
Exploring: “I want to find out whether some version of this could work.”
You are not committed to moving, but you are willing to look at real information, ask questions and challenge your assumptions.
Preparing: “I believe I want to do it and need to understand what it will require.”
You may not have every detail or a firm date, but the move feels more like an intention than a daydream.
Moving: “I have begun taking concrete steps toward a specific move or extended stay.”
You may have a timeline, be gathering documents, investigating rentals or actively preparing your current life for the transition.

None of these stages is better than another.
You do not need to call yourself “preparing” simply because you purchased this challenge. You also do not need to decide today that you are leaving Canada permanently.
This challenge is a fact-finding mission. Its purpose is to help you move from:
“I have no idea whether I could do this.”
to:
“I understand what this might require, what appears possible and what I need to investigate next.”
Your first job is simply to identify where you are beginning.
-
WHY DOES THIS POSSIBILITY HAVE YOUR ATTENTION?
Why does living in Mexico appeal to me?
What do I hope might be different about my life?
What is the biggest reason I think I may not be able to do it?
If I knew I wouldn’t be judged, fail or disappoint anyone, what version of living in Mexico would I allow myself to imagine?
